Position Purpose Responsible for undertaking contract development, including analysing requirements to create specifications, and developing tender evaluation plans. Participate in supply market analysis and strategy planning. Duties & Responsibilities Contribute to the organizations strategic procurement plans and provide leadership internally and externally. Builds and maintains internal and external relationships. Develops requirements in consultation with internal clients and identifies supplier sources for a range of commodities/services including undertaking market research and contract management of suppliers. Provides regular procurement reports to clients. Support clients in achieving maximum benefit from their contracting and procurement. Negotiate with vendors to target pricing strategy and delivery schedules to support customer demand. Make procurement decisions/recommendations to support corporate objectives. Be an active participant or leader on teams for process improvement activities. Collaborate with Materials Manager, Quality Managers, Engineering, Planner/Buyer Cell Leads, Planner/Buyers, and Production Control Planners to understand and implement supply chain requirements. This includes being part of the forecast communication process and special projects that impact materials and constraint issues. Work with vendors, developing and tracking specific milestone schedules for delivery of critical parts. Track and report to management and vendors the Supplier Performance Ratings and the cause of those ratings. This may, on occasion, require working with suppliers to review their processes as they relate to Company requirements and make suggestions for improvement. Communicate with vendors on an on-going basis through weekly status calls, supplier visits, and general communication channels to ensure Company supply requirements are being met. Establish and maintain inventory buffer levels of purchased items and asset pools for make items to ensure support of customers. Communication of delays, shortages, problems, issues relating to purchase of items for inventory. Assisting in devising and carrying out plans to resolve issues effectively. Carry out activities relating to policies, procedures and information from management to working team of planner/buyers. Special projects as required by management. Monitor back order reports to ensure vendors are delivering items on time to support corporate objectives. Participate in strategic sourcing projects in data gathering and analysis. Undertake market research and identify supplier sources. Monitor performance against KPIs and report on performance issues in accordance with GSC procurement standards. Perform data entry of purchase order entry and recordkeeping of completed work. Responsible for strategic high risk/high value procurements. Tasks involve related steps, processes, and methods that require employee to recognize clear differences in a variety of situations. Provide contract administration services for medium to high value, medium to high risk procurements and provide feedback on performance. Work affects overall efficiency and image of the organization customer satisfaction, the ability to support production and flight operations, as well as the ability to achieve cash flow and spend targets set in the budget. When performed well, decreases costs and increases profits. The position does not supervise any other staff. Knowledge of: Enterprise/Material Requirements Planning (ERP/MRP) systems. DAX fluency. Purchasing standards, and techniques. Required to keep up with new techniques and practices as they are developed. Skill in: Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio). Negotiating provisions, contracts and monitoring performance of vendors. Ability to: Provide excellent customer service and conduct business in a respectful and professional manner. Learn and understand basic manufacturing, engineering and quality jargon. Operate and contribute effectively as an individual and as a member of a team.
