Physician Assistant - Gastroenterology

Salem Gastro, PC in Salem Oregon is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join their busy practice. Salem Gastro believes in a culture of quality healthcare for their patients with life balance for our providers and staff. Salem Gastro is the only physician-owned GI practice in the mid-Willamette Valley. Their team of nine physicans and four PAs are looking to grow the practice to include PAs in the hospital setting. Currently the physicians rotate hospital coverage Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. If you're interested in joining a dynamic fast paced environment with great benefits and schedule, please apply now.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years GI experience preferred
  • Hospital consult and rounding experience
  • Epic EMR and GE Centricity experience preferred not required

Qualifications & Brief Job Description:

  • NCCPA Board Certified
  • Oregon Physician Assistant license
  • DEA registration
  • BLS

Responsible for patient evaluation, interpretation, diagnosis, and prescribing of appropriate medical and therapeutic measures. This job is based in a inpatient hospital setting. Evaluates, diagnoses, treats and manages acute, critical and chronic patients illness and diseases. Obtains medical histories, conducts physical examinations and assesses and determines a differential diagnosis. The PA prepares, dictates and signs patient care plans and summaries of patient care.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, and excellent decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a productive member of a health care team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others. Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
